AI training plans for hybrid athletes

Lift heavy. Run far. One plan.

HybridX writes your lifting and running as one week, with hard days kept apart and a reason on every session.

Two good plans make one bad week

Your lifting program puts squats on Monday and deadlifts on Wednesday.

Your running plan adds intervals on Tuesday, a tempo run on Thursday and the long run on Saturday.

Neither knows about the other, so Tuesday’s intervals hit legs still heavy from squats, and Thursday’s tempo run comes the morning after deadlifts.

HybridX writes them as one week. The intervals move to Thursday, an easy run takes Tuesday, and Friday becomes rest.

Each session comes with its reason. Here is Tuesday’s.

Why this, Tuesday

This run adds aerobic work without turning the day after squats into another hard leg session. Stay conversational, even if that means easing off the pace.

Miss a session and it offers a fix

Nothing changes until you answer, and you can undo it. Try it: Saturday’s long run didn’t happen.

Or tell the coach

“I’m at a wedding next Saturday and won’t get the long run in. Can we move it?”

It moves the long run to Sunday and drops Sunday’s easy run. You can undo each change.

Planned up to race day

HybridX lays out the months to your race in blocks and writes each week for its place in them. Strength comes first while the running is easy, then the build, then the marathon block, with lighter weeks built in.

A target for each block

Each block has a target, like a deadlift max, and shows where you stand. If you drift off it, it proposes a change and you decide.

Lifts set by set, runs on your watch

Log each set with weight, reps and RPE. Planned runs go to your watch as structured workouts and sync back when you finish.

How it works

Who built it

“I did powerlifting for years. I built HybridX between these two numbers, and the marathon was trained on it, barbell still in the week.”

Questions

What is hybrid training?
Training for strength and endurance in the same week, usually heavy barbell work and distance running, planned around each other.
How does the AI workout generation work?
Describe what you want in plain words, like “3 lifting days, 2 runs, keep Wednesday free”. The AI writes a full week from that, your goal and up to 12 weeks of your logged training (on day one, your setup answers).
Why not just ask ChatGPT for a plan?
ChatGPT writes a plan once. HybridX keeps it current: it reads what you logged and what your watch sent back, sends runs to your watch, and offers to rebalance the week when you miss a session.
Will running kill my strength gains?
Usually not much, if hard runs stay away from heavy leg days. Getting that order right is the plan’s job.
Can HybridX build a Hyrox training plan?
Yes. Tell the AI you are racing Hyrox and it adds hybrid circuit sessions (sled work, wall balls, lunges, running between stations) to your strength and running days and plans the week around all three. The app is built for barbell plus distance; Hyrox sits on top.
Does HybridX work with Garmin or intervals.icu?
Yes, both, in both directions. With Garmin, planned runs go to your Garmin Connect calendar and watch as structured workouts with pace and heart rate targets, and finished activities sync back the same day. On COROS, Wahoo, Polar or Suunto, intervals.icu does the same round trip. No watch? You can log everything by hand.
Can I use HybridX for free?
Yes. Logging, analytics, load tracking, Garmin and intervals.icu sync and the hybrid score are free with no time limit. The AI planner (weekly plans, changes, coach chat) is free for 14 days with no card, then $9 a month: an early adopter price (list $19), kept while you stay subscribed.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, in your account or by emailing support@hybridx.app. The AI planner runs to the end of the period you paid for; your logbook stays free.
What is the hybrid score?
The Hybrid Athlete Score is a free tool that rates your strength and running together from 0 to 100. It compares your lifts with StrengthLevel’s 150M+ logged lifts and your run time with age graded standards. Five numbers, no sign up.
